Local 696 Election takes place on March 31
Nomination meeting March 19
Today, March 4, members began receiving notification that the 2026 Local 696 election will take place on March 31. The nominations meeting will take place on March 19.
Both the election and the meeting will be on the 7th floor of the Union Hall, 3001 Walnut St.

Rabble Rousers Fundraiser

On Sunday March 1st, the Rabble Rousers Slate held a campaign fundraiser for the upcoming Local 696 election. We’re so grateful to everyone who attended, all who helped organize and donated raffle items, and to those who donated online! The fundraiser was attended by many 696 members spanning several departments, as well as numerous DC 47 members standing in solidarity with the Rabble Rousers, and our friends and family.
We had a raffle that included prizes like a Vitamix blender, a collection of political art posters, a set of house plants, a hibachi grill set, a vinyl anthology of Hip Hop, a handmade Rabble Rousers notebook, and more! Before announcing raffle winners, we got to hear from several candidates on why they were running on the Rabble Rousers Slate. The resounding takeaway from these speeches was that candidates want a union local that is democratic and accountable to its membership and which aims to increase the safety, dignity, belonging, and power of working class people! The Rabble Rousers have been organizing for the past four years to that end.
